Out team:

Alex Koloskov- photographer - is originally from Kiev (Ukraine, Eastern Europe). Alex moved to Atlanta in 2001 and opened AKELstudio in 2006. Alex discovered his passion for photography some 20 years ago, when he purchased his first film camera as a child and started developing his own pictures in a bathroom-based darkroom :-)

Working as a professional photographer, Alex concentrates his attention on photographic lighting which makes his images perfectly clear and sharp. His creative mind and strong work ethic help him meet his clients' demands and produce top-quality photographs every time. However, what truly drives Alex is the fact that photography is his passion.

"Capturing an image," says Alex "is holding on to a moment of life. A photograph allows us to see beyond the everyday, to focus on just one second, one instance of eternity. And hold on to it forever. Ansel Adams has said: 'There are always two people in every picture - the photographer and the viewer.' I always try to put myself in place of my clients - the viewers - and think, what will they see when they look at this image? Will this photograph meet their needs?"

Genia Larionova - digital artist, photo editor and retoucher - is the creative force behind the photographer. With a background in graphics and web design, Genia makes sure that each photograph is bright, crisp and razor-sharp. She can alter colors and backgrounds, remove dust spots or blemishes, adjust various elements of the image, and use other image manipulation techniques, as necessary. Genia's goal is to make sure the final image is perfect and priceless.

"I am the last person to touch the photo before it goes to the client," says Genia. "So the work I do is crucial. However, I am always careful not to alter the image to such a degree as to make it lose its natural beauty and quality. My challenge, as that of a makeup artist for example, is to accentuate the good features, while leaving the integrity of the subject intact."
Sophia and Liliana - the two youngest members of our team - provide us with inspiration and energy in our creative pursuits. Lord Byron has once said: "While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about." Sophia and Liliana, with their boundless enthusiasm and curious nature, offer us daily lessons in holding on to beautiful moments on camera. What's mundane to us is exotic to them. From these two girls, our team learns the true meaning of capturing art through a lens :-)

Why Photos Taken by a Professional Photographer Look Professional and Yours Do Not

Professional photographers shoot only in RAW!

It’s simple to get technically perfect photography! Shoot RAW or RAW plus JPEG, if your camera supports such modes. When using this format, you will have a choice of using JPEG if you are satisfied with the image; alternatively, you can make adjustments in RAW and then save in JPEG.
