History of the photograph and drawing

I’ve done it 2 years ago, while playing with  Canon Speedlight strobes: that time we did not have much assignments and I spend time in studio exploring new techniques, a lot of resulting photos found a place in  our stock collection.

I was surprised when Cheryl Church (www.cherylchurch.com) contacted me, asking if she can use the image for pencil drawing… I know that still life photography usually  used for variety of projects: advertisement, web, product, fine art prints,  but I was never thinking it can be used for pencil drawings.

I was glad to provide a good resolution (little less than hi-res :-) image to Cheryl, and after few month I’ve received her amazingly looking pencil work:

Cheryl explained: “The original piece is about 10” x 10” on Stonehenge paper, the type of color pencils that I use is Prisma color.  It takes me about 2o to 30 hours to complete one piece this size, the process takes lots of colors and lots of layers.”

Great result, is not it?  Thank you, Cheryl!
